Organiser/Host
Ulverston's Dickensian Christmas Festival committee/Ulverston Town Centre
Date and Time
Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November, 9am until late Sunday
The festival returns for its fabulous 26th year...
We have multiple performance stages, roving street performers, hot mulled wine, a town-full of wonderful stalls, and costume parades through the historic town streets.
Come along and get into the Christmas spirit. Dress up if you want to, and enjoy the amazing and friendly atmosphere!
Performers include brass bands, singers, magicians, fire eaters, jugglers, stilt walkers, and a whole lot more. Almost all of the entertainment is provided absolutely free of charge.
In addition, you'll want to visit Ulverston's traditional and specialist local shops, cafes and pubs. Ulverston still has many independent small businesses, and also still has thriving indoor and outdoor markets.
You might also take the opportunity to visit other parts of Ulverston. Walk to Ford Park and climb Hoad Hill, visit the Orangery cafe at St Mary's Hospice (next to Ford Park), walk down by the canal to Canal Foot and visit the Bay Horse Inn, or drive to the Manjushri Kadampa Buddhist Centre at Conishead Priory (Ulverston's unofficial premiere dog walking woods, beach, and vegetarian cafe). There are other great walking and cycling locations, and many cafes and pubs in the villages around Ulverston.

Ulverston's Dickensian Christmas Festival is managed and operated by an independent local committee of unpaid volunteers on a non-profit making basis; it is funded by fundraising efforts throughout the year and income from stalls and mulled wine sales of the previous year. Founded in 2000 the festival has grown in size, and has established itself as one of the busiest and most popular Dickensian festivals in the country. Customers enjoy the festive atmosphere and the quality and variety of products on offer. Ulverston is a beautiful historic market town with cobbled streets situated in a spectacular location on the edge of the Lake District.
