Infrastructure Planning Officer

We are seeking an Infrastructure Planning Officer to join the Council’s Sustainable Transport and Highways service. Your work will help improve connectivity and resilience in line with our Local Transport Plan and the Cumbria Transport Infrastructure Plan, supporting Westmorland and Furness as a great place to live, work, and thrive.

Our team’s programme includes prioritising and developing transport proposals, appraising transport impacts, supporting spatial strategies and the new Local Plan, shaping policies to promote economic growth and sustainability, and providing technical advice on major projects, including our innovative Team Barrow initiatives.

In this role, you will lead projects to identify and develop infrastructure strategies, engage with stakeholders, secure funding, and manage technical specialists and external consultancies.
