Piel Island | Walk Across the Sands

Join us for a magical walk to Piel Island led by expert local Guides John Irving and John Murphy.

Enjoy crossing the Sands at low tide from Walney Island to Piel Island with time to explore the rich heritage, including Piel Castle, and nature on offer on the island. It promises to be a memorable day out for everybody.

As well as exploring the site, you may wish to take refreshments in The Ship Inn before being guided back across the sands.

The whole event will last around 3.5/4 hours depending on the pace of the participants and weather.

After payment to the Guides, all proceeds will go to the charity, Morecambe Bay Partnership. Money raised will help fund vital projects supporting nature, heritage and our communities.

This event is suitable for children ages 6+. THE WALK IS BEING LED BY AN EXPERT GUIDE . UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD PARTICIPANTS ATTEMPT TO WALK ACROSS TO PIEL ISLAND UNACCOMPANIED
